Personal Assistant

Your always-on AI teammate — chat with it, have it run tasks on your behalf, and automate your own workflows with Skills.

Overview

Every person on your team gets a Personal Assistant — a per-user AI that helps you navigate Symbi, runs tasks on your behalf, and handles your personal work automatically through Skills.

Your Personal Assistant is separate from company agents:

  • Company agents serve the whole team — they answer tickets, update CRM records, and process shared work
  • Your Personal Assistant serves just you — your email, your calendar, your own workflows

The Chat Panel

Your Personal Assistant lives in the left panel of the Symbi workspace. It's always a click away. Use it to:

  • Operate Symbi — hire an agent, change settings, pull up the Operation Center, check an agent's performance, open a knowledge base
  • Run ad-hoc tasks — "summarize today's support tickets", "draft a follow-up to this customer", "what's on my calendar tomorrow?"
  • Get help — ask how something works and the assistant will explain or take you there

The chat panel is collapsible. Click the arrow in the header to shrink it into a small strip, or expand it when you need more space.

Write-Action Confirmation

When your Personal Assistant is about to take a real-world action — send an email, create an event, change a setting — it pauses and asks you to confirm first. You stay in control of anything that affects the outside world.

Personal Integrations

Your Personal Assistant connects to the tools you use personally. Today the supported personal integrations are:

  • Gmail — read your inbox, draft replies, send messages, manage labels
  • Google Calendar — check your schedule, find free time, create and update events

Connect these from Settings → Personal Integrations. Credentials are scoped to just you — other teammates never see your data.

Info

Additional personal integrations are coming. For now, the Personal Assistant is most effective as an email and calendar helper, plus a universal operator for Symbi itself.

Skills

A Skill is a reusable capability you've given your Personal Assistant — something it can run when triggered. Skills can be:

  • On-demand — you ask the assistant and it runs the skill right now
  • Scheduled — the skill runs on a schedule you've set, autonomously
  • Event-driven — the skill runs when something arrives (e.g., a new email from a specific sender)

For example, you might have a skill called "Morning Digest" that runs every weekday at 8 AM, reads your inbox and calendar, and produces a briefing of what needs your attention that day.

Skills, schedules, and their recent runs are managed at Settings → Personal → Skills and from the /personal page.

See Scheduled Triggers for how scheduling works.

Reviewing Personal Actions

When your Personal Assistant runs autonomously — on a schedule or triggered by an event — the actions it proposes show up in the Operation Center → Review Queue under the Personal scope. You approve, edit, or decline the same way you would for company agents.

You can configure whether Personal Assistant actions are always reviewed or auto-approved, and whether edits feed back into learned knowledge. See Operation Center.

Settings

Open Settings → Personal Assistant to:

  • Rename your assistant (default is "Symbi Assistant")
  • Add custom instructions (tone, preferences, how you want to be addressed)
  • Pause or resume autonomous execution
  • Manage personal integrations and skills

Admin Controls

Owners and Admins control which teammates have Personal Assistant access and which skills are available across the team from Settings. Teammates can always opt in or out of their own assistant's autonomous runs.
